UPSC MIDTERM ELECTION ENDORSEMENTS

Wondering who to vote for Tuesday, November 8th, 2022?

Election day 2022 is fast approaching and we want to make sure everyone is well education going into Election Day.

Vote Wisely, our children's futures are in these candidates' hands!

The issue of education has become a top concern for voters heading into the midterm elections. It is in our opinion, that this is the single most important election we have to help save the educational system in South Carolina and EVERYONE should be informed going into the polls.

*Ellen Weaver for State Superintendent has United Parents of SC endorsement!

Here are links for our candidate endorsements:

Lee Runyon ( We could not find his website, here is an interview that you may find helpful.)

We need serious people who will listen to the will of their constituents and take their concerns seriously.

Since the pandemic, school board meetings have become battlegrounds between parents and school board officials. I, myself, as well as many of you were labeled domestic terrorist for simply advocating for your children and what we saw was best for their educational, social and emotional needs. YES, it all matters, but at what cost?

It is very clear that Charleston County and School Systems across our nation have an unprecedented need for elected officials who have intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills and listening skills. We need serious people who will listen to the will of their constituents and take their concerns seriously. We need elected officials who are committed to recovering and optimizing our children's physical, social and most importantly educational outcomes.

For 2 years we fought a school board that used ineffective and damaging covid protocols that did little to nothing to stop the spread, but did in fact harm our children's educational outcomes as well as their social, emotional well being. The school boards inefficiency to realize that their own protocols were in fact hindering our children is the reason we CAN NOT allow them to remain seated. We can not let candidates who repeat unsubstantiated media and political talking points to justify failed policies that harm our children instead of focusing on education win.

66% of our children are FAILING to read at grade level!

Our most recent state report card shows that 66% of students in SC do not reach grade level standards in reading. 66% of our children are FAILING to read at grade level! Children who fail to read on grade level by the 3rd grade have a very difficult time ever catching up without supplemental help in and outside the school setting.

Many of us have personally witnessed candidate forum debates across our county. These endorsements have not been chosen frivolously. The experience of UPSC with CCSD over the past year more then qualifies UPSC to share their endorsements based on the answers and opinions of the school board candidates going into this election.

Please consider the time and effort that has been put forth into these endorsements by parents across this county.

Vote Wisely, our children's futures are in these candidates' hands AND PLEASE SHARE IF YOU AGREE!
